Beihug is a small Sydney brand built around one idea: most dogs don’t need miracle products, they need small rituals applied at the right moment with the right tool. We design the tools.

The Story

It started with a lick mat and a very anxious dog.

Bei is a chocolate Labrador who doesn’t do well with thunderstorms, vet visits, or the sound of the neighbour’s leaf blower. We tried everything. What actually worked was simpler than we expected: a lick mat, a smear of peanut butter, and five minutes of focused calm. That moment became Beihug.

What We Believe

Four things we won’t compromise on.

Calm is a skill, not a trait.

Anxious dogs aren’t broken. They’re undertrained in the art of settling. The right tools make that training possible.

Simple beats clever.

We don’t add features for the sake of it. Every design decision starts with: does this actually help the dog?

Honest materials only.

Food-safe silicone, non-toxic dyes, no mystery plastics. If we wouldn’t put it near our own dog, it doesn’t ship.

Small brand, real accountability.

You can email us and a human replies. We’re not scaling past the point where that stops being true.

The Team

Juan, Bei, and a very small operation.

Juan is the human behind Beihug — a Sydney-based designer who got tired of buying dog products that looked like they were designed by committee. Bei is the dog. She approves all products before they go live. Her standards are high.

We’re intentionally small. That’s not a limitation — it’s the point.

Designed in Sydney. Sourced honestly.

We work with suppliers we’ve actually visited. Our silicone is food-grade certified. Our packaging is compostable. We’re not perfect, but we’re transparent about where we’re at and where we’re going.

What’s Next

We’re building slowly, on purpose.

More lick mat formats. A slow-feeder bowl designed for anxious eaters. Possibly a calming balm. Nothing ships until Bei approves it, and she’s a tough critic.
